Five-year-old Isaac has visited Circus Starr for the past two years – and he always has the best time!
Isaac has autism, hypotonia (which affects his muscles) and really struggles with anxiety, so he doesn’t cope very well with new experiences.
His Mum, Claire, got in touch to tell us how much of a positive impact their visit to Circus Starr had on their family.
“Because of your show I got to see this huge smile and hear roars of laughter coming from my son. Sometimes I forget the sound of his laughter, so this made me cry happy tears. I have never seen him laugh and cheer the way he did.”
One of Isaacs’s favourite acts was our clown, Claire told us that he tried to copy their actions with excitement whilst he sat in the audience.
“His hands, arms and legs were twisting, and he was dancing away in his wheelchair. It was just beautiful as a Mum to watch. I can honestly say it was the first time I have ever been out and witnessed my son lose some of the weight of the world off his shoulders.”
We’re so pleased to hear that our inclusive show helped Isaac and his family make such precious happy memories together.
Their tickets were very kindly donated by community-driven businesses, which Claire was so grateful for.
“Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for providing my son and our family with this wonderful experience. You gave me a glimpse of what my son can be when the weight of the world is removed, even if it was just for that performance. You are all such wonderful people. ”
If you would like to help children like Isaac let loose and have some well deserved fun at Circus Starr you can make a donation today.
Update
Isaac attended our show once again in 2023! His Mum, Claire, asked us to share the message about his latest experience.
”Dear Circus Starr….thank you so much for our tickets. As a family we are going through so much right now, but your show never fails to bring a huge smile to my son’s face. He laughed so loudly, he clapped and even ate popcorn. Thank you for giving us the chance to make happy memories in a time that is full of not-so-many good times right now. Thank you for tonight .”
