Jack joined us with his big brother Logan for his 10th Birthday!

Due to both of the boys having challenging needs, Mum Erika explained why Circus Starr was the perfect place to celebrate his special day.

“Logan has cerebral palsy and moderate learning difficulties including autism, and Jack is also on the autistic spectrum with severe learning difficulties and is non-verbal. We find it almost impossible to go out as a family anywhere due to the level of needs both the boys have. In fact, this was the first time we had been out all together for almost a year.”

As both Jack and Logan have autism we advised Erika to take a look at our Show & Tell app, which she believes helped the boys prepare for their visit.

Once they made it inside our big top, the family were able to relax and spend some rare quality time together in an inclusive environment.

“The staff were friendly and welcoming and the whole ethos of inclusion was evident. We felt our moods lifted from the day to day stressful life of caring for the boys. The positive well-being continued and I felt with both of the boys being able to enjoy an event together, it helped them with their sibling bonding”

We are so happy that we were able to give the family a chance to make some special memories together. Erika remembers one particular moment when Jack met one of our characters in the interval.

“He was so excited! He ran up, hugged him and kissed him! This level of social interaction is so rare from Jack that both myself and my husband were reduced to tears!”
