Noah is a 10-year-old that is a massive animal lover!
Due to his condition he gets extremely tired, so he spends a lot of time watching Youtube, documentaries and cooking programmes (favourite chefs include Jamie Oliver and Rick Stein).
Noah has a life limiting disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It means that his muscles are weak, and it has a big impact on his heart and breathing.
His Mum Victoria explained to us how it can often be a struggle for them to go out and spend quality time together.
“Noah struggles with a low mood due to pain and his declining body and doesn’t always feel able to go out. We do try to do things as a family but also find accessible places are not as accessible as advertised. A lot of planning can often end in Noah getting worried and anxious about a lot of things as he also has ASD diagnosis.”
She told us about the experience that the family had when they visited Circus Starr.
“Noah was worried but he absolutely loved it! He relaxed quite quickly and enjoyed what he was watching and taking part vocally and laughed a lot. It was nice that it was organised and we arranged a wheelchair space before and it was a good length of time for us. Also very local and just something different and inclusive.”
“It was nice to do something fun all together and spend time together. It’s been a tough few months, and it always has an impact when we can go as a family and treat my daughter as well- we weren’t thinking about the bad things and just enjoying.”
Victoria had a message for us to pass on to our business supporters who help to fund the event and tickets.
“You are fantastic for giving people the opportunity to have fun away from stressful hospital visits and treatments and always being apart. To have family time and memories is massively important and you are giving people valuable time together. Thank you – we are extremely grateful.”
